| Vay - age 19 - Vay’s mother is deceased and her father – a farmer – was attempting to provide for himself and his three children. He was never able to provide his family with enough food nor could he afford to send his children to school. Wanting his children to have a better life, Vay’s father brought them to the orphanage so they would all be properly cared for. |
